Privacy
Jasstafel is a scoreboard. It needs very little data, and we intend to keep it that way. This page says in plain language what is stored, where, for how long, and what you can do about it. It follows the Swiss Data Protection Act (FADP/DSG) and, where it applies, the EU GDPR.
Who is responsible
Sams Ventures, Switzerland. Contact for anything about your data: hello@jasstafel.com.
What is stored
Your account
- Anonymous device account. The first time you open the app, an account with a random id and a device token is created silently. No name, no email, no advertising id. It lets us attach your games to your device.
- Email, optional. If you want to sign in to use your account on a second device, you enter an email address and receive a magic link. The address is stored for that login only. There is no password, no newsletter, no email other than the link you asked for.
- Handle. If you pick a username (for example @anna) it is public: others can find you by it and seat you at their table. That is what it is for.
Game data
- The names you type for the people you play with, the points of every round, chosen trumps, weis, match, corrections and their timestamps.
- Statistics computed from that (wins, points per round, weis, matches).
- Your defaults for new games (colours, multipliers, weis values, target score, icon colours).
Who sees a game: everyone seated in it and everyone holding the link (or QR code) to the game or to its watch mode. When you share a link you share the scores and the names you typed. Names you type for other people are those people's data; please only type what is fine at the table.
What does not happen
- No ads, no ad networks.
- No tracking, no analytics, no analytics cookies, no fingerprinting. This website sets no cookies at all.
- No selling or passing on of data. Nobody but you and the people with the link sees your games.
Where the data lives
Accounts, players and games are stored with Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., with a European establishment), in the D1 database and in Durable Objects, in the EU-West region. Cloudflare is a processor and may use the data only to run the service. Transport is encrypted (HTTPS, WSS).
On your device the app keeps a copy in the browser's local storage (localStorage / IndexedDB) or in the app's database so the board works without a connection. That copy is yours; it disappears when you clear the site data or delete the app.
Why, and on what basis
Everything above serves one purpose: keeping the board, syncing it between your devices and the phones at the table, showing statistics. The legal basis is performing the service you asked for (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in running it securely (art. 6(1)(f)). For the email sign-in it is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by having the account deleted.
For how long
Games stay until you delete them. Anonymous accounts with no games and no email may be removed after twelve months of inactivity. Magic links expire after a short time. Server logs (IP address, time, requested address) are kept briefly by Cloudflare to fend off abuse and are not linked to your account.
Your rights
- Deletion: delete games yourself in the app. For the whole account including email and handle, write to hello@jasstafel.com; we delete within 30 days and confirm.
- Access, correction, a copy of your data: same address. Names and settings you change directly in the app.
- Complaint: with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, with your supervisory authority.
Changes
If something changes we update this page and the date above. Anything substantial is announced in the app.
